Principal’s Message

Welcome to R.C. Longan Elementary, where we are excited to begin the 2026–2027 school year with our theme, "The Learning Highway: On the Road to Success." This theme reflects our commitment to helping every student navigate a journey of growth, discovery, and achievement. As we open the doors to our brand-new school building, we are thrilled to provide innovative learning spaces designed to support collaboration, creativity, and academic excellence. While our surroundings may be new, our focus remains the same: ensuring that every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Our school is a vibrant reflection of the world, with families representing a wide array of cultures, languages, and traditions. We are dedicated to honoring and uplifting this diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where all students feel seen, heard, and celebrated. As we begin this exciting new chapter, we are equally committed to preserving the close-knit culture that we proudly call home at Longan Elementary. The relationships, traditions, and sense of belonging that have always defined our school will continue to be at the heart of everything we do as we travel together on the road to success.

It is our desire to provide our families with quality service. Our staff will strive to build a solid partnership with you. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 804-527-4640 or nmhenderson@henrico.k12.va.us.

Yours in education,

Dr. Nicole M. Henderson
